As one of the non-crystalline thermoplastic styrene resins, ABS has an excellent balance of impact resistance, hardness, flow, etc., and its dimensional stability and molding machinability is remarkably advantageous.
The three components of acryl, butadiene, and styrene are chemically integrated, and their individual properties are well balanced.
"Acryl" increase → hardness, tensile strength, elastic modulus, impact resistance, solvent resistance, and heat resistance increase, but high-frequency dielectric property decreases.
"Butadiene" increase → as a rubber component, reduces tensile strength, elastic modulus, and hardness, increases impact resistance, abrasion resistance, and expansibility, and its nature becomes vulnerable.
"Styrene" increase → increases moldability, electrical properties, and melting fluidity, and its nature becomes hard and tender.
ABS resin sold in the market is composed of 25% ~ 30% of acryl, 25% ~ 30% of butadiene, and the restaurant of styrene.
